Project information

We were delighted to return to work with one of our previous clients, Vicky Hunt, on a new project at her home in Okehampton. This time, she needed help transforming her bathroom into a space that was not only refreshed but also more practical and accessible for everyday use.

The journey

It started with the need to remove an old bath that no longer suited Vicky’s lifestyle. Upon inspection, we found a leak under the floor, which meant replacing the flooring became a necessary part of the job. Throughout the project, we kept Vicky informed and involved, working closely with her to ensure the design remained functional and future-proofed. During the job, she mentioned a small but meaningful problem — the difficulty of watering her plants from a rear-only outdoor tap.

What we did

We began by carefully removing the existing bath to open up the space and prepare for a more accessible shower layout. During the process, we discovered a leak beneath the floor, so we fully replaced the damaged flooring to ensure the new installation would be both safe and long-lasting. To make the new walk-in shower as accessible as possible, we lowered the waste outlet, allowing us to fit a low-profile shower tray that’s easy to step into. All plumbing and sealing work was completed to a high standard, leaving a fresh, watertight finish. While we were there, Vicky mentioned the difficulty of watering her plants due to only having a hose connection at the rear of the property. As a thoughtful addition, we installed a new outdoor tap at the front of the house — a small upgrade that made a big difference to her daily routine.
